Mr. Ninjee Batchuluun
From a young age, he began his musical education at the National Children’s Palace in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. His passion for the morin huur, a traditional Mongolian string instrument, led him to pursue advanced studies at the Mongolian University of Art and Culture under the guidance of Prof. A. Purevsukh from 2001 to 2009. During his time there, he was also a member of “Tumen Ekh,” a prestigious Mongolian folk instrumental ensemble, until 2014.
In 2014, he relocated to the East Bay in the USA, where he continued to share his expertise and love for the morin huur. At the “GER Youth Center,” a non-profit Mongolian organization in Oakland, CA, he teaches students of all levels, from complete beginners to adults, helping to preserve and promote Mongolian musical traditions in his new community.
