There are 47 teaching weeks for any given day of the week (e.g. 47 Mondays, 47 Tuesdays, etc.) Students are required to keep their lesson schedule for the remainder of the semester. Changes to the assigned weekly music lesson schedule (day/time) are not allowed after the semester has begun.
(An extra 1 week off can be considered for the summer session IF vacation requests are submitted and finalized by May 31 )
MAKEUP LESSON POLICY:
Students are allowed to schedule two (2) make-up lessons per school year (One for the Fall and One for the Spring Semester ).
A make-up lesson will be issued when a lesson is canceled with at least 24-hour advance notice (By emailing the school and the teacher). Cancellations made with less than 24-hour notice will not qualify for a Make-up Lesson or Tuition Credit (This includes being sick the day of a scheduled lesson)
ONLINE LESSONS are available for students who exhibit symptoms such as a cough, a runny nose, etc. but do not have a fever, and/or are not able to make it due to other family-related matters. It’s intended to provide an alternative to in-person attendance and maintain the student's progress. The school and the teacher must be informed within 24 hours of the student’s absence or by 12:00PM (noon) on the day of the scheduled lesson. Online lessons should be conducted at the same time as the regular in-person class.
All makeup lessons are to be taken within the semester during which the absence took place. There will be no “rolling over” of makeup lessons.
In case of a teacher’s absence, a make-up lesson will be given at the earliest availability of the teacher.
Circumstances eligible and might qualify for make up lessons:
Illness or medical reasons. (provide doctor’s note)
Unforeseen family emergency
Known absences notified the school 3 months prior.
Circumstances NOT eligible and DO NOT qualify for make up lessons:
School and social events ( sports games, school camps and trips, school club events etc…)
Family events ( trips, vacations and social events )
No shows and last minute/same day cancellations
Cancellation of scheduled make ups.
ENROLLMENT AND WITHDRAWAL POLICY:
Enrollment can be completed by contacting admin@sonormusicschool.com. Parents will need to complete the enrollment via an online software platform after an account is set up for the student/family where the history of payments, fees, attendance, etc. can all be monitored. Parents/Guardians will need to sign/agree to the School Policies and set up auto-payment. Lessons will start once the enrollment process is complete.
A non-refundable fee of $80 per student and $70 per sibling is required at the time of registration. Returning students must pay a re-registration fee of $50 per student and $40 per sibling annually.
The intention to withdraw from lessons must first be communicated with the studio teacher and the Sonor music director to discuss modifications to lessons or curriculum depending on the issue. If a student still wishes to withdraw, the Family must notify the School in writing via email (admin@sonormusicschool.com) at least 30 days before stopping lessons. Sonor will issue a final invoice for any leftover lessons after the last full month’s lessons.
TUITION AND FEES:
Tuition is due on the 1st of the month, is charged by credit card, and is based on a monthly flat rate. Holidays and school breaks listed above (see School Calendar section) are not included.
A late fee of $25 will be charged if payments are not received by the 7th of each month.
The cost of the books, sheet music, lesson materials, school recitals, and other audition/test fees are not covered by the tuition fees.
